Wood Stove Recipes: Spiced Lamb Pitta Bread

wood stove

We continue our wood stove recipe series by adapting another recipe from The Plain Kitchen. A few weeks ago, we tried out Justine’s delicious mango and halloumi salad recipe. This week, we’ve chosen to try something a little different. You really can cook a wide variety of dishes on a wood burning stove!

This spiced lamb pitta bread is packed full of flavour. It’s an ideal lunch for a sunny weekend in the garden, but could also make a tasty dinner dish when served with a side salad and some halloumi (fried on your wood stove, of course)!

Ingredients:

  • 250g lamb mince
  • 1 large clove chopped garlic
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 stick of celery

Spices:

  • 1 tsp sumac
  • 1/2 tsp chilli
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp coriander
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • Salt and pepper

To serve:

  • Handful of chopped coriander
  • Zest and juice of half a lemon
  • Greek yogurt
  • Pitta bread
