From our very first sale, in 2012, we have always strived to put our customers at the centre of everything we do. Each individual that we work with has unique ideas and requirements, so we aim to tailor every aspect of our service to suit; from design to delivery.
In particular, no two deliveries are ever the same. We have delivered huts and kits to many different destinations from halfway up a Welsh hillside to a purpose built insulated shed with polished concrete floor (we liked that delivery!). Consequently, deliveries are not something that we trust to a third party.
We’ve put together a list of FAQs to help answer any initial questions that you may have about delivery…
How much does delivery cost?
Price will vary according to your location. We charge £100 plus £2.00 per mile door to door.
What is included in the delivery?
Included in the price is three hours of set up time. This should be ample time to unload and place your hut into position. Where additional time is required then we charge £60 per hour.
Where can you deliver to?
We will consider all destinations. Where overnight stops or other additional expenses are incurred then the delivery charge will reflect these.
What if there is limited access to my property?
Over the years, we have stopped traffic, negotiated narrow roads, steep hills, brick walls — you name it! We’ve gotten quite good at thinking laterally when it comes to our deliveries and have successfully manoeuvred every hut into its new home in one piece!
One way to judge whether the delivery will be problematic is to imagine towing a medium sized caravan into the position you have planned for the hut. If so then we should not have a problem delivering you your hut. If that is not the case then some additional planning is required.
Forewarned is forearmed and you will need to let us know as much as possible about the intended site for your hut beforehand. Photos of the site, and access to the site; maps; and notes are all helpful. If at all possible, where the delivery may be complicated, we will endeavour to make a site visit.
How should I prepare the site?
We can send you the dimensions for the footprint of your hut and the points at which the four wheels touch the ground must be level.
If the ground is soft then we suggest that you bury a concrete block under each wheel.
Do you deliver your shepherd’s hut kits?
We do! Unless you have a flatbed beaver tail trailer, we highly recommended that we deliver your kit for you. As you can imagine, they are a lot easier to deliver than our complete huts. We can always dismantle the chassis if you have limited access to your property.
How long will I have to wait for my hut to be delivered?
A hut takes between 6 and 8 weeks to build and kits take about 2 or 3. The actual date for your delivery will be estimated on receipt of your deposit.
